| 1ST CL. PVT. CHARLES BROWN
St. Louis, Mich.
Brown was assigned to the Battery in September, 1917, as one of the pioneer recruits. He was one of the large men of the outfit, being over six feet, of a very genial disposition and ever ready for a friendly scuffle. He was one of the pugilistic enthusiasts at the time Lieut. DaPrado put boxing in our daily routine of physical training.
Motor experts were needed and Brown was transferred to Brigade Headquarters while at Camp Coetquidan, and served in this capacity, bringing up ammunition and supplies during our days on the line. |
